Last updated: 2026-10-12 · Author: Wassim, Founder, Tolta

The strongest alternative to AIApply is Tolta, our product. Where AIApply applies from unnamed sources, Tolta finds new roles on named company career boards within hours of posting, tailors your CV and cover letter, applies on the employer's own form, and holds any question it can't answer truthfully until you answer it once. To approve every job one at a time, JobAssist or Sprout; for free autofill, Simplify.

Key points:
- Tolta is the strongest AIApply alternative: named career boards, the employer's own form, and a hold-and-ask rule instead of guessed answers.
- AIApply's public pricing page shows no figures; Auto-Apply credits are sold separately from the Premium subscription (October 2026).
- AIApply's terms say Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications have been submitted, and renewals are generally non-refundable.
- AIApply names its job sources only as thousands of sources and sends applications to an ATS, job board or recruitment platform.
- Simplify's autofill extension is free; you submit each application yourself.

For the background, read our [AIApply review](/reviews/aiapply) or our guide to how [AI auto-apply](/auto-apply) works. If JobCopilot is also on your shortlist, see our [JobCopilot alternatives](/alternatives/jobcopilot).

## Which alternative applies on the employer's form without guessing?

Tolta. It finds new roles on named company career boards within hours of posting, tailors your CV and cover letter for each one, and applies on the employer's own form. When a form asks something your profile can't answer truthfully, the application waits and you answer once. Every reply lands in your own Tolta inbox.

That answers the main reasons people leave AIApply:

- **Applications to roles that don't fit.** Tolta matches you to roles read directly from employer boards: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor, checked continuously. AIApply names its sources only as "thousands of sources".
- **Invented answers.** Unknown questions hold the application instead of being filled in. Work authorization is re-confirmed on a clock, and Tolta never auto-fills past salary, criminal history or a photo on US forms. The full list is on our [safety page](/safety).
- **Applications you didn't approve.** With auto-apply off, every application waits for your approval. With it on, anything uncertain still waits.
- **A machine-made address.** You apply from a personal application email address that is never reassigned, and employer replies land in your Tolta inbox.

Auto-apply submits today on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor. On Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, Tolta finds the role, tailors your documents and takes you to the employer's form. Tolta is pre-launch, with pricing announced at launch. It never automates LinkedIn.

## Why do people look for an AIApply alternative?

Most people leaving AIApply cite fit, money or control. Reviewers say it applied to roles that didn't match or ignored their filters, that credits ran out fast, and that refunds were hard to get. Some report invented answers on forms. Here is what AIApply's own pages say, and what users report:

- **Pricing.** The [pricing page](https://aiapply.co/pricing) shows no figures. It describes a Premium subscription with Auto-Apply credits sold separately, a student discount and a limited free tier.
- **Refunds.** AIApply's [terms](https://aiapply.co/terms-of-service) say "Auto-Apply is a non-refundable product" once applications are submitted. Renewals are generally not refundable either.
- **Where it applies.** The terms say it sends application data to "the relevant applicant tracking system (ATS), job board or recruitment platform", and that employers and platforms may use bot detection, with no guaranteed outcome.
- **Control.** In Hybrid and Auto mode, applications go out without you approving each one.
- **Accuracy.** Users on Reddit describe applications to unrelated roles, skills or languages they never claimed, and some incomplete submissions. Some also found its application email address looked machine-made.

AIApply held 4.3 from 1,971 [Trustpilot](https://www.trustpilot.com/review/aiapply.co) reviews on October 12, 2026.

## Which alternative lets you approve every application?

Tolta, JobAssist and Sprout all let you see each application before it goes. In Tolta, turning auto-apply off makes every application wait for your approval. JobAssist says nothing is sent without your approval, one job at a time. Sprout has you review and edit a tailored resume and cover letter, then swipe or tap to apply.

[JobAssist](https://jobassist.com/) scores jobs from 0 to 100 and tracks recruiter replies alongside applications, but doesn't name its job sources. Watch the renewal: $5.99 for the first week becomes $59.99 a month, and refunds are at its discretion. Our [JobAssist review](/reviews/jobassist) covers the billing complaints.

[Sprout](https://www.usesprout.com/pricing) is $19.99 a week for 50 applications or $39.99 a month for 200, as of October 2026. It offers a full refund within 7 days only if no credits were used. See our [Sprout review](/reviews/sprout) for more.

## What about Jobright and JobCopilot?

Jobright is built around matching and referrals. Its autofill extension leaves the final submit to you; its newer Agent applies for you, but how it handles approval and questions it can't answer isn't documented publicly. Pricing is in-app only. It held 4.8 from 3,580 Trustpilot reviews on October 12, 2026.

[JobCopilot](https://jobcopilot.com/pricing/) says it applies only to verified jobs on official company career pages, from $0.93 a day as of October 2026, with an optional save-for-review step. Resume tailoring for every application is on its Elite plan only. Refunds cover only technical issues reported within 7 days, and it held 2.1 from 98 Trustpilot reviews on October 12, 2026.

## What's the best free AIApply alternative?

Simplify's Copilot Chrome extension is free. It autofills applications on more than 100 ATS and job portals, including Workday, Greenhouse and Lever, and its tracker and job matches are free. You submit each application yourself, so nothing goes out that you haven't seen, but you do all the clicking.

Simplify+ adds an Autopilot that submits up to 20 applications a week, for $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $89.99 for three months, as of October 2026 ([Simplify pricing](https://help.simplify.jobs/articles/5623502-whats-included-in-simplify-features-and-pricing)). Payments are non-refundable once activated.

## Which AIApply alternatives did we leave out?

We left out tools that automate LinkedIn, including LazyApply and LoopCV's LinkedIn extension. [LinkedIn's policy](https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a1341387) doesn't permit bots or browser extensions that automate activity on its site, and members who use them risk having accounts restricted. Losing your LinkedIn account mid-search costs more than any tool saves.

## How should you choose?

Check four things before paying for any AIApply alternative: what the plan renews at, the refund rule in the tool's own words, where its jobs come from, and what it does when a form asks something it doesn't know. Tolta answers the last two in writing: named company career boards, and a hold-and-ask rule that never guesses on your behalf.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best alternative to AIApply?

Tolta, our product. It reads new roles on named company career boards within hours of posting, tailors your CV and cover letter, applies on the employer's own form and holds any question it can't answer truthfully until you answer it once. To approve every job one at a time, JobAssist or Sprout. If cost is the problem, Simplify's free autofill.

### Is there an AIApply alternative that doesn't use LinkedIn?

Tolta never automates LinkedIn; it reads company career boards and applies on the employer's own form. JobCopilot says it applies only to jobs on official company career pages. We left LazyApply and LoopCV off this list because they automate LinkedIn, which LinkedIn's policy prohibits and which can get an account restricted.

### Which AIApply alternative lets me review applications before they're sent?

Tolta: with auto-apply off, every application waits for your approval, and with it on, any application with a question it can't answer still waits for you. JobAssist says nothing is sent without your approval. Sprout has you review and edit, then swipe or tap to apply. Simplify's free Copilot and Jobright's autofill leave the final submit to you.

### Can I get a refund from AIApply?

Rarely. AIApply's terms say fees are non-refundable except where the law or service terms say otherwise. Refunds may be granted for an accidental purchase reported within 30 minutes with no meaningful use. Renewals are generally not refundable, and Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications have been submitted. Cancel at least 24 hours before your term ends to avoid renewal.

### Is there a free alternative to AIApply?

Yes. Simplify's Copilot Chrome extension, tracker, job matches and basic resume builder are free for everyone, and the extension autofills forms on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and other systems. The trade-off is that you stay on each application page and submit it yourself. AIApply also lists a limited free tier, but Auto-Apply needs paid credits.

### Is AIApply better than JobCopilot?

On Trustpilot, AIApply rates higher: 4.3 from 1,971 reviews against JobCopilot's 2.1 from 98, as of October 12, 2026. JobCopilot is clearer about where it applies, naming official company career pages, and publishes a from-price of $0.93 a day. Both have strict refund rules. Neither documents a hold-and-ask rule for questions it can't answer; Tolta does.
