AIApply alternatives: 6 AI job application tools compared

The best AIApply alternative depends on what went wrong. To approve every application, try JobAssist or Sprout. For better-rated matching, Jobright. For free autofill, Simplify. For applications sent on the employer's own form that stop to ask you instead of guessing, Tolta, our product, which is pre-launch.

Tolta is our product and is one of the options below. We list where each tool is the better pick.

Why people switch from AIApply

  • Users report applications sent to roles that don't fit, or that ignore their filters
  • Auto-Apply credits run out fast and are sold on top of the subscription
  • Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications are submitted, and renewals are generally non-refundable
  • In Hybrid and Auto mode, applications go out without approving each one
  • Reports of invented answers on forms and incomplete submissions
  1. 1Tolta

Best for: People who want applications sent on the employer's own form, from known career boards, with no guessed answers

How it applies: Reads Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Rippling, Workable and Teamtailor boards, tailors the CV and cover letter, and submits through the employer's form. Auto-apply is live on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor, with more boards being switched on. Holds an application and asks you when it can't answer a question.

Tolta is our product. Pre-launch: no prices announced, no public reviews yet, no interview practice. Web app only.

  2. 2JobAssist

Best for: Approving every application yourself and keeping recruiter replies in one place

How it applies: Web app. Scores jobs 0-100 against your profile; after you approve a job, one-click Auto Apply fills the form, attaches a role-specific cover letter and submits.

$5.99 for the first week, then $59.99 a month (as of October 2026). Refunds at its discretion. Trustpilot 1.7 from 22 reviews (October 12, 2026).

  3. 3Sprout

Best for: Reviewing each application on your phone before it goes out, with prices shown up front

How it applies: Mobile and web app. You review and edit a tailored resume and cover letter, then swipe or tap to apply. Some jobs ask guided, role-specific questions first.

$19.99/week for 50 applications or $39.99/month for 200 (as of October 2026). Full refund within 7 days only if no credits were used. iOS 4.6 from 72K ratings (October 12, 2026).

  4. 4Jobright

Best for: Accurate matching, referrals and a well-rated iOS app

How it applies: Autofill extension where you click submit yourself, plus a newer Agent that applies for you. How the Agent handles approval and unknown questions isn't documented publicly.

Pricing is shown in-app only. Full refund within 7 days on monthly and longer plans, 24 hours on weekly. Trustpilot 4.8 from 3,580 reviews (October 12, 2026).

  5. 5Simplify

Best for: Free autofill when you'd rather submit each application yourself

How it applies: Free Chrome extension autofills forms on 100+ ATS and job portals, including Workday, Greenhouse and Lever. Paid Simplify+ adds an Autopilot that submits up to 20 applications a week.

Simplify+ is $19.99/week, $39.99/month or $89.99/3 months (as of October 2026). No refunds after activation.

  6. 6JobCopilot

Best for: Daily auto-apply aimed at official company career pages

How it applies: A cloud copilot finds jobs daily on company career pages and autofills and submits applications, with an optional save-for-review step. Its Chrome extension leaves submission to you.

From $0.93/day (as of October 2026). Refunds only for technical issues reported within 7 days. Trustpilot 2.1 from 98 reviews (October 12, 2026).

Tolta competes with AIApply and with every tool on this list. We’ve tried to be fair: each fact links to the tool’s own pages or a public review site, and we say where other tools beat ours. Tolta is our product. We haven’t run paid trials of these tools yet. This page is based on their own sites, terms, Trustpilot and public user reports, checked on October 12, 2026.

For the background, read our AIApply review or our guide to how AI auto-apply works. If JobCopilot is also on your shortlist, see our JobCopilot alternatives.

Why do people look for an AIApply alternative?

Most people leaving AIApply cite fit, money or control. Reviewers say it applied to roles that didn’t match or ignored their filters, that credits ran out fast, and that refunds were hard to get. Some report invented answers on forms. AIApply is still well rated overall, with 4.3 from 1,971 Trustpilot reviews on October 12, 2026.

Here is what AIApply’s own pages say, and what users report:

  • Pricing. The pricing page shows no figures. It describes a Premium subscription with Auto-Apply credits sold separately, a student discount and a limited free tier.
  • Refunds. AIApply’s terms say “Auto-Apply is a non-refundable product” once applications are submitted. Renewals are generally not refundable either.
  • Control. In Hybrid and Auto mode, applications go out without you approving each one. That’s by design, and Review mode exists if you want it.
  • Accuracy. Users on Reddit describe applications to unrelated roles, skills or languages they never claimed, and some incomplete submissions. Some also found its application email address looked machine-made.

Trustpilot reviewers also praise the time saved and the quality of its tailored resumes and cover letters, so pick an alternative based on which problem is yours.

Which alternative lets you approve every application?

JobAssist and Sprout are the closest if you want to see each application before it goes. JobAssist says nothing is sent without your approval, one job at a time. Sprout has you review and edit a tailored resume and cover letter, then swipe or tap to apply. Both publish their prices, unlike AIApply.

JobAssist scores jobs from 0 to 100 and tracks recruiter replies alongside applications. Watch the renewal: $5.99 for the first week becomes $59.99 a month, and refunds are at its discretion. Our JobAssist review covers the billing complaints.

Sprout is $19.99 a week for 50 applications or $39.99 a month for 200, as of October 2026. It offers a full refund within 7 days only if no credits were used. Its iOS app holds 4.6 from about 72,000 ratings. See our Sprout review for more.

Which alternative has the best ratings and matching?

Jobright has the strongest public ratings of any tool here: 4.8 from 3,580 Trustpilot reviews and 4.8 on iOS, as of October 12, 2026. Reviewers praise accurate matching and resume tailoring. If AIApply’s main problem for you was poor fit, Jobright is the fairest place to look first.

Jobright’s autofill extension leaves the final submit to you, which avoids the “it applied to the wrong job” problem. Its newer Agent applies for you, but how it handles approval and questions it can’t answer isn’t documented publicly. Pricing is shown in-app only. Trustpilot complaints say automated applying falls short and notifications are frequent.

What’s the best free AIApply alternative?

Simplify is the best free option. Its Copilot Chrome extension autofills applications on more than 100 ATS and job portals, including Workday, Greenhouse and Lever, and its tracker and job matches are free. You submit each application yourself, so nothing goes out that you haven’t seen, but it’s slower than any auto-apply mode.

If you want automation, Simplify+ adds an Autopilot that submits up to 20 applications a week, for $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $89.99 for three months, as of October 2026 (Simplify pricing). Payments are non-refundable once activated, so test the free extension first.

Which alternative applies on the employer’s own form?

JobCopilot and Tolta both aim at employer career pages. AIApply names only “thousands of sources” and sends data to the relevant ATS, job board or recruitment platform. JobCopilot says it applies only to verified jobs on official company career pages. Tolta reads company career boards directly and holds any application it can’t answer so it can ask you.

JobCopilot starts from $0.93 a day, as of October 2026, with an optional save-for-review step. Refunds are offered only for technical issues reported within 7 days, and its Trustpilot rating was 2.1 from 98 reviews on October 12, 2026.

Tolta reads Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Rippling, Workable and Teamtailor boards. Auto-apply is live today on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor, with more boards being switched on. If a form asks something your profile can’t answer, Tolta asks you once and reuses the answer. Each user gets a personal application email address and an in-app inbox for replies. What it never auto-fills is on our safety page. Tolta is pre-launch: no prices, no public reviews and no interview practice, which are all places AIApply is ahead.

Which AIApply alternatives did we leave out?

We left out tools that automate LinkedIn, including LazyApply and LoopCV’s LinkedIn extension. LinkedIn’s policy doesn’t permit bots or browser extensions that automate activity on its site, and members who use them risk having accounts restricted. Losing your LinkedIn account mid-search costs more than any tool saves.

How should you choose?

Start from the problem that made you leave AIApply, then check four things before paying: what the plan renews at, the refund rule in the tool’s own words, where its jobs come from, and what it does when a form asks something it doesn’t know. A tool that can’t answer the last two clearly is guessing on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to AIApply?

There isn't one best pick; it depends on why you're switching. To approve every application, JobAssist or Sprout. For matching with strong public ratings, Jobright. If cost is the problem, Simplify's free autofill. If you want applications sent on the employer's own form with no guessed answers, Tolta, our product, which is pre-launch.

Is there a free alternative to AIApply?

Yes. Simplify's Copilot Chrome extension, tracker, job matches and basic resume builder are free for everyone, and the extension autofills forms on Workday, Greenhouse, Lever and other systems. The trade-off is that you stay on each application page and submit it yourself. AIApply also lists a limited free tier, but Auto-Apply needs paid credits.

Can I get a refund from AIApply?

Rarely. AIApply's terms say fees are non-refundable except where the law or service terms say otherwise. Refunds may be granted for an accidental purchase reported within 30 minutes with no meaningful use. Renewals are generally not refundable, and Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications have been submitted. Cancel at least 24 hours before your term ends to avoid renewal.

Which AIApply alternative lets me review applications before they're sent?

JobAssist says nothing is sent without your approval, one job at a time. Sprout has you review and edit, then swipe or tap to apply. Simplify's free Copilot and Jobright's autofill both leave the final submit to you. AIApply's own Review mode does this too. Tolta holds any application with a question it can't answer and asks you first.

Is there an AIApply alternative that doesn't use LinkedIn?

Tolta never automates LinkedIn; it reads company career boards and applies on the employer's own form. JobCopilot says it applies only to jobs on official company career pages. We left LazyApply and LoopCV off this list because they automate LinkedIn, which LinkedIn's policy prohibits and which can get an account restricted.

Is AIApply better than JobCopilot?

On public ratings, AIApply is ahead: 4.3 from 1,971 Trustpilot reviews against JobCopilot's 2.1 from 98, as of October 12, 2026. JobCopilot is clearer about where it applies, naming official company career pages, and publishes a from-price of $0.93 a day. AIApply offers three approval modes and interview practice. Both have strict refund rules.
