Ashby jobs: how to find and apply to roles on Ashby boards

Ashby jobs are roles that companies post on their own Ashby career board, at jobs.ashbyhq.com/<company> or embedded in their careers page. Ashby has no public search across employers, so you find these boards through Google site: searches or a tool that reads them, then apply on Ashby's application form, with no account to create.

Ashby postings sit on company career boards that most job seekers only find through a careers link or a reposted listing. This page covers how to recognize an Ashby board, search across them, and get through Ashby’s application form. If you would rather have new roles from these boards found for you, that is what an AI job finder like Tolta does.

What is Ashby?

Ashby is an all-in-one recruiting platform that combines an applicant tracking system (ATS) with a recruiting CRM, interview scheduling and analytics. Employers use it to post jobs, collect applications and run their hiring pipeline. For job seekers, Ashby matters because it hosts each customer’s public job board and the application form you apply through.

When you apply on an Ashby form, your application lands directly in the employer’s own pipeline, not in a job-board inbox that someone has to forward. That is the main reason to apply on the company’s board rather than through a reposted listing.

How do you recognize an Ashby job board?

An Ashby board is a page at jobs.ashbyhq.com followed by the company’s board name, for example jobs.ashbyhq.com/notion. A single posting adds a long ID after the company name, and the form sits on its Application tab, at /application. Companies that embed Ashby in their own careers page show the job ID as ?ashby_jid= in the link.

The patterns:

  • Board (all open roles): jobs.ashbyhq.com/<company>
  • One posting: jobs.ashbyhq.com/<company>/<posting-id>
  • Application form: jobs.ashbyhq.com/<company>/<posting-id>/application
  • Embedded on a careers site: <company-site>/careers?ashby_jid=<posting-id> or similar, since the company picks its own page address

Ashby doesn’t support custom domains for its hosted boards, so a company either uses the jobs.ashbyhq.com address or embeds the board in its own site. On an Ashby posting page, the job description and the application form sit on separate tabs.

How do you search for jobs on Ashby?

Ashby has no public search across all of its customers’ boards, so the practical way to search Ashby jobs is Google. Restrict results to Ashby’s board domain with the site: operator, then add a job title, skill or location in quotes. Each result is a posting on an employer’s own board.

Useful patterns to adapt:

  1. By title: site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "product manager"
  2. Title plus remote: site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "backend engineer" remote
  3. Title plus city: site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "account executive" "Berlin"
  4. Seniority: site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "senior" "data analyst"
  5. Exclude a word: site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "designer" -intern
  6. Embedded boards: inurl:ashby_jid "customer success"

Use Google’s Tools menu to limit results to the past week or month. Google’s index lags behind the boards, so a fresh posting can take days to appear and a closed one can linger. Check that the posting still opens before you spend time on the form.

What does the Ashby application form ask?

Ashby’s form is a single page on the posting’s Application tab, with no account or sign-in. It usually asks for your name, email, phone, location and resume, often your LinkedIn profile and an optional cover letter, then the employer’s own questions. Many US postings add a voluntary EEO survey at the end. Each employer builds its own form, so required fields vary.

On a typical Ashby form, such as Notion’s, you will see:

  • Contact details: full or legal name, email, phone, and your location.
  • Resume upload. Ashby can read the file and fill in matching fields for you. Check every field it fills before submitting.
  • Links and documents: LinkedIn profile, sometimes a website or GitHub, and on some forms an optional cover letter upload.
  • Custom questions. Yes/no, multiple choice and written answers chosen by the employer, for example visa sponsorship, office attendance, years of experience or how you heard about the role. Some employers add a skills exercise inside the form; Ramp’s engineering postings, for instance, ask candidates to decode a short challenge.
  • EEO survey: on many US forms, gender, race and veteran status, each optional with a “Decline to self-identify” choice.

Ashby also checks each submission for spam, at a level the employer sets. If a form refuses to submit, see the FAQ below.

How does Ashby read your resume?

Ashby processes resumes of 16MB or smaller to make them searchable for the recruiter and to autofill fields on the application form. Ashby’s documentation doesn’t list which formats parse best, so the safe choice is a text-based PDF or .docx: if you can highlight the text in your file, software can read it.

What that means in practice:

  • Export your resume as a text-based PDF or .docx, never a scan or a photo, and keep it well under 16MB.
  • Keep your name, email and phone as plain text near the top.
  • Use standard section names such as Experience and Education.
  • When the form fills a field wrongly, fix it on the form. The recruiter sees what you submit, not what the parser guessed.

What are the best tips for applying to Ashby jobs?

Apply on the company’s own Ashby form, early, with a resume that matches the posting and a LinkedIn profile that tells the same story. Read every custom question before you start, since Ashby employers often add written or skills questions that take time. Check autofilled fields, then submit once and keep a record.

  • Apply early. Postings close when a role is filled, so a posting from this week is usually a better use of your time than one from two months ago.
  • Match the posting, honestly. Mirror the posting’s terms where they truly describe your experience. Recruiters read the resume itself, and padding shows.
  • Give written questions real answers. Specific, short answers to the employer’s own questions carry more weight on a short form than anything else you add.
  • Treat eligibility questions carefully. Sponsorship, location and office attendance questions are often used to screen applications, so answer them accurately for that role.
  • Use the cover letter field when there is one, with a few sentences on why this role.
  • Keep a record. Nothing on Ashby’s side tracks your applications across companies. Track them yourself or with an application tracker.

Where does Tolta help with Ashby jobs?

Tolta reads Ashby boards directly today. New roles posted on the Ashby boards Tolta follows reach you within hours of posting, matched to your profile and shown with a link to the employer’s own form. Submitting the application on Ashby’s form for you is not switched on yet; it is coming.

Because Tolta collects roles from company career boards, including Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby, rather than from reposts, you see Ashby postings close to when they go live. Today, Tolta’s auto-apply submits on the employer’s own form for Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor boards, and it will cover every board it reads, Ashby included. It never automates LinkedIn, and when a form asks something your profile can’t answer truthfully, such as an employer’s written or skills question, Tolta holds the application and asks you once instead of guessing. Until auto-apply reaches Ashby, you apply to Ashby matches yourself on the Ashby form, using the tips above. See also how to find roles on Greenhouse boards and Lever boards.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an Ashby account to apply to a job?

No. Ashby's hosted application form is a public page with no sign-in. You open the posting, switch to the Application tab, fill in the fields and submit. Ashby is software the employer uses, so there is no candidate account to create; your application goes straight into that employer's hiring pipeline.

Is there a website that lists all Ashby jobs?

No. Each employer has its own board at jobs.ashbyhq.com/<company> or on its own careers page, and Ashby offers no public search across them. To search many boards at once, use a Google site: search such as site:jobs.ashbyhq.com "data analyst" remote, or a job tool that reads Ashby boards directly, as Tolta does.

What is ashby_jid in a job link?

ashby_jid is the Ashby job ID. When a company shows its Ashby board on its own careers site, links to a single posting carry ?ashby_jid=<id> so the page knows which job and application form to display. Seeing ashby_jid in a link is a reliable sign the job runs on Ashby.

Do I have to answer the EEO questions on an Ashby application?

No. On Ashby forms that include the US EEO survey, the gender, race and veteran status questions are optional, and each offers a decline option such as "Decline to self-identify". Ashby stores the survey responses anonymously by default.

Why won't my Ashby application submit?

Ashby screens submitted forms for spam, and each employer picks how strict that check is. Ashby's own documentation warns that its stricter settings can occasionally stop real candidates from submitting. Check that every required field is filled, reload the page and try again; if it still fails, contact the company through its careers page.

Does Tolta auto-apply to Ashby jobs?

Not yet. Tolta reads Ashby boards today, so new Ashby roles show up in your matches within hours of posting, with a link to the employer's form. Automatic submission on Ashby's form is coming. Today Tolta submits on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor forms, and it will cover every board it reads.
