Is the job market getting better?

A role counts as opened the day it first appears on a company's careers page, and closed the day it comes down. That measures real movement, not how many listings float around job sites. Roles a company already had when Tolta started reading its board are left out, so a newly tracked company does not look like a hiring spree.

Which jobs are in demand right now?
Engineering, Sales and Healthcare have the most open roles right now. Business Operations grew fastest, with 46% more new roles than the week before.
Every role is sorted into one job family from its title and description. Families with fewer than 30 open roles are left out because small numbers swing too much.
A family with many open roles is not always easy to get into: some of those roles are hard to fill, which is why they stay open. New roles this week are the better sign of where companies are hiring now.

11% of open roles that say how the work is done are remote. 83% of remote roles are limited to one country and 6% to time zones. The rest name several countries or a region, or give no limit; few say they are open worldwide.
"Remote" usually comes with fine print. Few postings say a role is open worldwide, and Tolta does not guess: a role that names several countries, a region or no limit at all is counted on its own, not as "anywhere". Most remote roles are limited to one country, often because of payroll and tax rules, so read the location line before you apply.

The median open role has been posted for 35 days. 27% went up in the last two weeks, and 37% have been up for more than 60 days.
A role that has been up for months is not always fake. Senior and specialist roles take longer to fill, and some companies keep an evergreen posting for roles they hire for all year. But older postings collect more applicants and fewer replies, so newer roles are usually a better use of your time. More on that in our guide to ghost jobs.

Straight from careers pages.Tolta reads each company's own job board every day. A role counts once, however many job sites repost it.
Opened and closed.A role opens the day it first appears and closes the day it comes down. Posting age uses the date on the careers page.
Small numbers left out.Every family, country or pay figure on this page is built from at least 30 roles. Smaller groups are not shown.
