Sprout alternatives: 6 AI job application tools compared

The best Sprout alternative depends on what you want to fix. For approving every application, look at JobAssist or AIApply's Review mode. For strong matching on a phone, Jobright. For free autofill, Simplify. For applications sent on the employer's own form that stop to ask instead of guessing, Tolta, our product, which is pre-launch.

Tolta is our product and is one of the options below. We list where each tool is the better pick.

Why people switch from Sprout

  • The price appears only after a long setup, and no free trial is described
  • Users report repetitive postings and few results
  • Worry that AI-written resumes don't get through screening
  • Reports of failed applications and credits that weren't returned
  • Job sources aren't named, so it's hard to know where applications go
  1. 1Tolta

Best for: People who want applications sent on the employer's own form, from known career boards, with no guessed answers

How it applies: Reads Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Rippling, Workable and Teamtailor boards, tailors the CV and cover letter, and submits through the employer's form. Auto-apply is live on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor, with more boards being switched on. Holds an application and asks you when it can't answer a question.

Tolta is our product. Pre-launch: no prices announced, no public reviews yet. Web app only.

  2. 2JobAssist

Best for: Approving every application yourself and keeping recruiter replies in one place

How it applies: Web app. Scores jobs 0-100 against your profile; after you approve a job, one-click Auto Apply fills the form, attaches a role-specific cover letter and submits.

$5.99 for the first week, then $59.99 a month (as of October 2026). Refunds at its discretion. Trustpilot 1.7 from 22 reviews (October 12, 2026).

  3. 3AIApply

Best for: A full suite with interview practice, and a choice of how much to automate

How it applies: Cloud agent with three modes: Review (you approve each match), Hybrid (auto for high-fit roles) and Auto. Tailors resume and cover letter. Credit-based Auto Apply.

Prices aren't on its public pricing page. Auto-Apply is non-refundable once applications are submitted. Trustpilot 4.3 from 1,971 reviews (October 12, 2026).

  4. 4Jobright

Best for: Accurate matching, referrals and a well-rated iOS app

How it applies: Autofill extension where you click submit yourself, plus a newer Agent that applies for you. How the Agent handles approval and unknown questions isn't documented publicly.

Pricing is shown in-app only. Trustpilot 4.8 from 3,580 reviews; iOS 4.8 from 1.6K ratings (October 12, 2026).

  5. 5Simplify

Best for: Free autofill when you'd rather submit each application yourself

How it applies: Free Chrome extension autofills forms on 100+ ATS and job portals, including Workday, Greenhouse and Lever. Paid Simplify+ adds an Autopilot that submits up to 20 applications a week.

Simplify+ is $19.99/week, $39.99/month or $89.99/3 months (as of October 2026). No refunds after activation.

  6. 6JobCopilot

Best for: Daily auto-apply to official company career pages

How it applies: A cloud copilot finds jobs daily on company career pages and autofills and submits applications, with an optional save-for-review step. Its Chrome extension leaves submission to you.

From $0.93/day (as of October 2026). Refunds only for technical issues reported within 7 days. Trustpilot 2.1 from 98 reviews (October 12, 2026).

Tolta competes with Sprout and with every tool on this list. We’ve tried to be fair: each fact links to the tool’s own pages or a public review site, and we say where other tools beat ours. Tolta is our product. We haven’t run paid trials of these tools yet. This page is based on their own sites, terms, Trustpilot and public user reports, checked on October 12, 2026. We’ll update it after hands-on testing.

This page is about Sprout at usesprout.com, not the separate product JobSprout. If you want the background first, read our Sprout review or our guide to how AI auto-apply works.

Why do people look for a Sprout alternative?

Most people leaving Sprout cite cost, results or trust. Reviewers say the price appears only after a long setup with no free trial, that postings repeat and results are thin, and that AI-written resumes may not get through screening. Others want to know which boards their applications go to. Sprout is still popular, with 4.6 stars from about 72,000 App Store ratings.

Sprout’s pricing is $19.99 a week for 50 applications, $39.99 a month for 200, or $79.99 for 600 over three months, as of October 2026. Its Trustpilot page had only 2 reviews on October 12, 2026, so most feedback lives on the App Store and Reddit. Pick an alternative based on which of these problems is yours.

Which alternative lets you approve every application?

If you liked Sprout’s review-then-swipe step and want the same control, JobAssist and AIApply are the closest. JobAssist says nothing is sent without your approval, one job at a time. AIApply’s Review mode has you approve each match, and you can move to Hybrid or Auto later. Both tailor a cover letter for each role.

JobAssist also tracks recruiter replies and interview invites alongside applications. Watch the renewal: $5.99 for the first week becomes $59.99 a month, and refunds are at its discretion. Our JobAssist review covers the billing complaints in detail.

AIApply adds interview practice, including a live “Interview Buddy”. Its public pricing page shows no figures, and its terms say Auto-Apply is “a non-refundable product” once applications are submitted. On Trustpilot it held 4.3 from 1,971 reviews on October 12, 2026.

Which alternative has the best ratings and matching?

Jobright has the strongest public ratings of any tool here: 4.8 from 3,580 Trustpilot reviews and 4.8 on iOS, as of October 12, 2026. Reviewers praise accurate matching and resume tailoring. If you used Sprout on your phone and the problem was job quality, Jobright is the fairest place to look first.

Jobright’s autofill extension leaves the final submit to you. Its newer Agent applies on your behalf, but how it handles approval and questions it can’t answer isn’t documented publicly. Pricing is shown in-app only. Trustpilot complaints mention that automated applying falls short of expectations and that notifications are frequent.

What’s the best free Sprout alternative?

Simplify is the best free option. Its Copilot Chrome extension autofills applications on more than 100 ATS and job portals, including Workday, Greenhouse and Lever, and its tracker and job matches are free. The trade-off is that you sit on each application page and submit it yourself, which is slower than swiping.

If you want automation, Simplify+ adds an Autopilot that submits up to 20 applications a week, for $19.99 a week, $39.99 a month or $89.99 for three months, as of October 2026 (Simplify pricing). Payments are non-refundable once the subscription is activated, so test the free extension first.

Which alternative applies on the employer’s own form?

JobCopilot and Tolta both aim at employer career pages rather than reposts. JobCopilot says it applies only to verified jobs on official company career pages. Tolta reads postings directly from company career boards and submits through the employer’s own form, holding any application with a question it can’t answer so it can ask you.

JobCopilot starts from $0.93 a day, as of October 2026, with optional review before applying. Refunds are offered only for technical issues reported within 7 days, and its Trustpilot rating was 2.1 from 98 reviews on October 12, 2026.

Tolta reads Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Rippling, Workable and Teamtailor boards. Auto-apply is live today on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor, with more boards being switched on. Each user gets a personal application email address and an in-app inbox for replies, and Tolta doesn’t automate LinkedIn. What it never auto-fills, and how it handles sensitive answers, is on our safety page. Tolta is pre-launch: no prices, no public reviews, and no mobile app yet, which are all places Sprout is ahead.

How should you choose?

Start from the problem that made you leave Sprout, then check four things before paying: what the plan renews at, the refund rule in the tool’s own words, where its jobs come from, and what it does when a form asks something it doesn’t know. Any tool that can’t answer the last two clearly is guessing on your behalf.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best alternative to Sprout?

There isn't one best pick; it depends on why you're switching. If you want to approve every application, JobAssist or AIApply's Review mode. If you want strong matching and an iPhone app, Jobright, which has the best public ratings here. If cost is the issue, Simplify's free autofill. If you want no guessed answers, Tolta, our product, which is pre-launch.

Is there a free alternative to Sprout?

Yes. Simplify's Copilot Chrome extension, tracker, job matches and basic resume builder are free for everyone. The trade-off is that you sit on each application page and submit it yourself. LoopCV also has a free plan, but its LinkedIn auto-apply extension falls under LinkedIn's ban on automation tools, so we left it off this list.

Is Sprout the same as JobSprout?

No. This page compares alternatives to Sprout at usesprout.com, the swipe-to-apply app operated by Magnifex AI, Inc. Some software directories show a separate product called JobSprout on Sprout searches. If you're reading other alternatives lists, check which product they mean before comparing prices or ratings.

Which Sprout alternative lets me review applications before they're sent?

JobAssist says nothing is sent without your approval, one job at a time. AIApply's Review mode has you approve each match. Simplify's free Copilot and Jobright's autofill extension both leave the final submit to you. JobCopilot has an optional save-for-review step. Tolta holds any application with a question it can't answer and asks you first.

Which alternative applies on the employer's own website?

JobCopilot says it applies exclusively to verified jobs on official company career pages. Tolta reads postings directly from company career boards such as Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby and submits through the employer's own form, with auto-apply live today on Workable, Rippling and Teamtailor. Simplify and Jobright autofill employer forms, but you submit.
